Bubbles and Bibles

This evening we had a rather different youth group at the Boulder Chinese Baptist Church (BCBC). There were six students: two in college (Sam and Ted), two in middle school (James and Esther), and two in 2nd grade (Luke and Jacob). Quite the range! After pizza, we went outside to blow bubbles. Soon our "scientists" started experimenting with wind speed, combining bubbles, and using styrofoam and plastic cups instead of the bubble wands. We produced some mighty impressive gigantic bubbles! Then we started looking for Jesus in the Old Testament. First we found Him on the 6th day of creation, when God said, "Let us make man in our image." The plural pronoun shows the Trinity, and that's supported in John 1:1. After a rather animated discussion of sin and its effects (including animals having to die so God could make clothing for Adam and Eve), we saw God's promise of a Messiah in Genesis 3, where Eve's "offspring will crush" Satan's head. "Oh!" said Ted. "It all comes together!" All together, a delightful evening!
