Oh, what fun we had in youth group tonight! I had about 45 glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and the kids played "crab soccer," which involved holding yourself off the floor on your hands and feet, back down, and "running" around after the ball—all this with the lights off, wearing glow sticks, and a glow stick taped to the ball! Yoiks! From the dark floor came a pathetic voice from a college sophomore: "I'm too OLD for this!" Then we talked about bioluminescence—fireflies, for example—and read from the Bible about Jesus telling us we are the light of the world. What does that mean? What should we do? Susan reminded us that bioluminescent creatures must continue to use an energy source, or they will die. So it was a good evening!
