Youth group

Ouch! My feet ache. They are sore from the soles and toe-tips clear up to my waist, in fact. I stood, or walked, for three and a half hours today, on concrete floors, serving with the youth group at the Lamb's Lunch—a multi-church outreach to the homeless and marginalized of metro-Boulder, Colorado.
We had a great time, and my four teens were joined by two students from Platte Middle School, where I'd talked with the 8th graders about community service at Lamb's Lunch, several weeks ago. They recognized me, which was fun, and worked hard.
The temperature's been frigid, though this afternoon it warmed to about 50° F, and the wind was absolutely terrible this morning! So we had a bumper crowd, and ran out of food before any helpers were able to eat. Not a kid complained, however. We handed out clothes (coats, gloves, socks) and food (snacks, candy, and barbequed brisket), shared smiles and conversation, and then the kids cleaned up the room we were in, wiping down tables and vacuuming the entire place.
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine," Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, "you did for Me." So we served our Lord today, an honor, indeed.
