Bible research The assignment: Choose a verse from the Bible that fits each person in the group. On a card, write the person's name, the verse, and the reason you chose it for them. We will put all the cards for each person together, and the person will have it as their resource of God's blessing for the new year.
The process: I'd brought some pages of God's promises for kids who wanted to use them, but most of us dived into the Bible. Which is how we ended up with such cards as: Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? (1 Cor 11:14-15) Comment: You don't have long hair. You're not a woman. Good job!
And someone came up with this bizarre verse: An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. (Proverbs 24:26) Youth group injoke: Lie to me, please!
