Faith In A Box Oh, that was a GOOD lesson! I stole it from my Sunday school teacher, who told us about Faith In A Box, which gives you rules and checklists for every occasion. Since I'm working with kids, I actually made sample pages (based on info the kids had pulled from the Bible about Paul, Peter, John the Baptist, and John Not the Baptist).
So this evening, I presented my sample kit of Faith In A Box, and the kids took turns reading the lists aloud. There was some discussion and concern, until—about three pages in—Karen suddenly said, "Oh! I see what you're doing!" Then laughter as different kids caught on at their own speed.
From there we talked about what's wrong with the lists, and why we can't just use the checklists and excuses. It was a wonderful lesson; the kids got it; I'm so tickled!

Love one another (John, NTB).
1. Hug everyone in your church when you see them.
2. If you talk about other people, don’t let them hear you.
3. Love Christians more than other people.
a. Say nice things to them.
b. Give them presents on Christmas and their birthday.
c. Invite them to your parties.
4. If other Christians don’t love you, tell them they’re bad.
5. Make sure your unsaved friends know you love them because you’re a Christian.
a. Say things like, “I wouldn’t like you, except God says I have to.”
b. If they don’t respond positively, stop being friends with them.
