… t-o-o … o-l-d … Oh, my goodness, I am currently feeling about 97 years old! Today was the church youth group's day (about six hours) at Boondocks, an amusement center in Denver. They have lots to do, including miniature golf, laser tag, go-carts, bumper boats, and an enormous arcade area.
I did nothing but stand around and make happy, encouraging comments. Vicki, healthier than I am, played laser tag and did some of the other activities. Paul Fischer, our third chaperone, did everything with the kids. And the kids—all 12 of them—focused primarily on the go-carts, laser tag, bumper boats, and arcade.
The bumper boats looked most fun to me. I sat wistfully outside the fence and got sprayed by the water cannons on each boat, enjoying the coolth and wishing I could participate. My mental picture of getting me out of the boat later kept me safely on the bench, however!
What a fun day! I feel very tired, very sun-burned, and very old!
