Planning … Only two more days till I leave for the Colorado Christian Writers Conference! And I'm in one of the peak, most fun parts of packing/planning: what documents should I take with me?
Tom (my co-author) and I have appointments with several editors, so we're taking multiple copies of our ReSolution book proposal. Preparing for that has been fascinating, as it involves fancy presentation folders that display a CD as well as business cards and the document, and the document itself printed on bright-white paper. (Trivia tidbit: There's a row of numbers on the wrapper of a ream of paper: one tells how many sheets [duh], one tells the weight, and the middle one tells brightness! Normal, cheap copy paper is 92. I'm using 98!)
In addition, I'm carrying two other manuscripts. Tiger on the Dashboard is a picturebook I did as a sample for a class at school. The kids liked it so much I tidied it up and will look for someone to give it a once-over.
In addition, I've pulled together the short stories I've written about children who met Jesus, and I've got copies of that to show anyone who expresses any interest at all.
But in addition to those, I'll carry (on a thumb drive) Waypoints, my on-the-road-devotional manuscript, and Pet Lovers' 23rd Psalm, just in case.
Now, what else should I have handy, I wonder ... Isn't this fun?!
