God’s schedule We do have an amazing God! My schedule today is absolutely bonkers—I feel as if I'm running in circles, shrieking in frustration, being asked to do far more than I have time or energy to do! And yet, every single item on my crisis: do it now list is something I've chosen to do, something I'm confident the Lord would have me do. So, how can I complain?
This morning I'm dealing with two different advocacy situations, two families caught in the special ed maze who need help and guidance. One is at a school with cooperative administrators; the other is being dismissed by the administration. Both want my advice in order to secure the best possible educational experience for their kids.
I have a friend who has been asked to send a book proposal in this week. How exciting! She has highly placed people interested in her book, and the request is in response to their interest. This is wonderful, and I'm gladly coaching her through the process of crafting a book proposal (she and I agree that writing the book is far easier than doing the proposal!).
Tonight is youth group, and I need to put together lesson plans for our time together. In addition, we're meeting with the parents this evening to discuss the retreat, and I need handouts for them.
I have to do a lesson plan for Bible study in a week. Same for the May/June interim study I'll be leading. What a privilege ... what a responsibility!
And then there's the Colorado Christian Writer's Conference next Wednesday through Saturday. I have a couple of manuscripts of my own to polish and present, plus the joint software/book package my co-author and I are bringing. Lots of little details: make copies, find the best presentation folders, check the schedule, write query letters, on and on and on.
Isn't it fun? So much fun to be writing and helping people ... so much fun to be thinking about ways to show others God's Truth ... so much fun to be learning as I do all this ...
God's timeline is the best, even though it seems a bit out of control today. Sorry ... gotta run!
