morning fun! Stopped for gas in Cheyenne, WY, this morning. As I left, I passed a man on the side of the road. His sign said, "VISIONS OF A CHEESEBURGER." I stopped, opened my window, and said cheerfully, "Meet me at the McDonald's across the street, and I'll feed you!" He looked a bit startled and mumbled, "No, I'm okay." Obviously a cheeseburger wasn't what he'd been hoping for. Sigh.
At the McDonald's, I ordered my usual—sausage/egg muffin, no cheese, no muffin. Belinda, the server, suggested I order a la carte, as it would be cheaper. They won't let me do that at home, but I was glad for the suggestion. She chatted cheerfully with the cowboy behind me in line, too. Nice to start the day with a friendly face! So I asked to speak with a manager and thanked her for having such a welcoming server.
When God nudges me to provide food for a homeless person, I love to respond (even though this dude wasn't interested). And I love asking for a manager and giving a compliment; it's so much fun! Isn't God good to provide these situations for me as I head back home today?
