Precision Repair in Big Timber, MT Diane and I were up early (gosh, thanks, Dolphin!) and out of the campground a few minutes before 7 a.m. Our goal was a L-O-N-G day today, so tomorrow would be do-able. We were cruising happily east on I-90 when the ambient sound level changed drastically. Huh? Diane said there was something flapping outside the front of the RV. I found a place to pull over and went out. The ... the plastic thingie that covers where the side of the RV and the windshield connect ... had lost two of its three screws. I secured it with duct tape, and on we went.
Crunch ... flp flp ... it was outside the rearview mirror this time! I found a place to get off the highway (ranch access only—no services), climbed on my little step stool, and put on new duct tape, higher and thicker. Refused to allow Diane to use a lawn chair to climb to the top. On we went.
CRUNCH ... FLP FLP FLP ... I spotted a Conoco station in Big Timber and asked for help in their little store. The lady directed me down the road to Precision Repair and Fabrication (406 932 4969). Lisa, in the office, said they were short-handed and busy, but what did I need? I explained, and she sent their only guy to look at the RV. Rob must have spent half an hour or more on my rig. The screws hadn't fallen out; they had sheared off. He broke three drill bits trying to drill them out. Finally he drilled new holes in the flanges and the plastic thingie and put it all back together again for me!
And they charged me ... are you ready for this? ... they charged me a grand total of $44. Now that's honest, caring workmanship and business practice! I thank them, and I thank the Lord for leading me to that shop in Big Timber, Montana! If you're in the area and need help, I cannot recommend them more highly!
