2000+ miles of boring interstate, with bright spots! I left Canada Monday morning and took US 2 across Washington in an effort to avoid the killer Seattle traffic. This was effective, though I got some monster hills in trade. Ah, well.
Picked up I-90 in Spokane and headed east. And that's all I've done for the past three days: head east. I found a delightfully friendly McDonald's in Kellogg, Idaho. Got myself a moose-headed walking stick in Billings, Montana--which has the very first KOA there ever was! I feel that I've touched history ... I drove by the Badlands of South Dakota yesterday, and into fertile Iowa today. Tomorrow I finish Iowa, cross Illinois, and land in Indiana, where I will rest up for my afternoon and evening of signing books at Wolf Park.
Other bright spots? Well, Dolphin has (again) chosen the most comfy spot in the rig for his on-the-road napping. Having checked out the passenger seat, dinette seat, sofa, rug, and bed, he chooses (drum roll, please) the shower stall, where his litter box is! He curls up between the box and the wall and sweetly sleeps the miles away.
I'm happily listening to books on tape (finished Laddie today and started the Shackleton story) and writing devotionals.
