fretting … It's kind of been a week ... Wednesday I took my RV down to Nolan's, the wonderful RV place that takes care of all my problems. I left it there, for them to fix a broken light fixture, a contrary window shade, and the leaking water tank. I'm hopeful they will return a happy, bouncy Moose to me ...
Thursday I visited my eye doctor, who is about an hour south of me, but I trust him (Dr. David Crockett: he's a Christian). The irritation in my right eye turns out to be an infected ulcer on the cornea, of all things! He gave me antibiotic drops, and anti-inflammatory drops, also. Went back today, and it's 1/3 the size it was two days ago—the pain level is congruent with that. Stay on the drops for another seven days, he says, just to make sure. Yes, sir!
Thursday evening my laptop started making odd noises ... froze briefly ... turned itself off ... and came back on with a graphic of a file folder with an ominous black question mark on it. Off to the Apple Store I went, fear in my heart. Yep! The drive was gone. Completely. I've been relatively good at backing up, so I only lost a couple of weeks' worth of info, but ... And, of course, I had to buy a new laptop (could've replaced the drive, but it didn't sound worth it). So I'm writing this on a nifty new MacBookPro, with titanium something-or-other and lots of bells and whistles (sounds like the Six-Million Dollar Man, to me).
Sigh. Whimper. No, Elsi, the Lord is in control. Trust Him. And remember to back up your data every night! ;-D
