Just thinking ...

Snowed in (sort of)

It snowed, hard, all night. I waded through several inches of snow to get the papers in the morning. My doorbell rang about 8: two kind gentlemen with no gloves, offering to shovel my walks. I gladly accepted! The phone rang about 9: a member of the Women's Bible Study, suggesting we cancel. Her husband is a sheriff, and his recommendation was don't go out unless it's an emergency! So Ruth and I canceled Bible study, and I have stayed home all day. I did a little writing, a lot of Christmas wrapping, a bit of admiring the snow. Took a nap, patted the dog and cat, finished my book (The Penderwicks, by Jeanne Birdsall). Listened to Christmas carols. Watched the snow out my window. It's well above belly-deep on my lighted sheep (not to mention my beagle!). Their noses are buried in the stuff; they're attempting to dig down to grass, I suppose. Tomorrow I've got to be out early, heading for school. Ork! But ... whiter than snow ... each flake reminds me of God's grace!
