Just thinking ...

I spent much of the afternoon at the University of Colorado high school band day; marching bands from across the state come to get feedback on their form, etc. I have a friend who's a color guard in the Evergreen High School marching band. They were on at 1:45 and did quite well. Within about half an hour, it was so windy that another band—using ladders as props for a "climb the ladder of success" theme—watched the ladders blow over. The kids held up well under that, responding with aplomb and presence of mind, but it must have been frustrating for them! Leaving me wondering ... do I respond as maturely when faced with frustration?

	I loved the show! But—trust me—your color guard kids knew the ladders were down, and responded with absolute maturity, as if it had been practiced. It was quite impressive!

	Actually, I stumbled upon your blog and happen to be in the band with the ladder of success theme. Really, most of us didn't even know the ladders blew over until we were done with the show. I hope you liked our show!
