Busybusybusy day … That's a line from a Jello commercial on TV from my childhood—you see a housewife trying to cook, clean, answer the phone, and deal with a crying baby. And the voice-over says cheerfully, "Busy day! Busy day! Busybusybusy day! Let's have Jello for dessert!"
Lady woke me this morning with an urgent need to go outdoors a full 15 minutes before the alarm went off. With that extra time, I managed to be almost late to school, having filled the 15 minutes with about 25 minutes of this-and-that.
Then I planned with a volunteer about library storytime ... got caught up on several situations at school (I volunteer there, two half-days a week, as curriculum coach and special needs advisor) ... did editing with the 4th-5th class ... visited preschool ... researched some questions we were trying to process ... planned parent-teacher conferences for next month ... did trouble-shooting on some discipline and behavior issues ... was asked to do several other things that will wait for tomorrow.
Came home and chatted with a pastor friend about his plans to work with a church-planting group. He volunteered to try to fix my sprinkler system, and he and his wife and I spent almost an hour running the system, adjusting heads, cutting down bushes and small trees that interfered with the water spray, and so forth.
Then I rearranged my living room bookshelves so I had room for the four new scrapbook-photo albums I've generated since May. Worked on my Bible study for next week. Read some. And I think I'll go to bed. Soon. NOW!
Have a blessed evening, you all out there!
