Trick or Treat? For reasons I cannot explain, I paused on my way to pick Sallie up at PetSmart this afternoon. All the Halloween costumes were 75% off ... and they had this adorable bumblebee ... yeah. So I bought two: a large for Miss Sallie, and a medium for Dolphin.
I put Sallie's on her right away. And then, of course, I came home and dressed Dolphin. I thought he might never speak to me again, or run and hide ... but no! The silly boy has been wandering the house in his bee outfit all evening. He even came to the door to greet trick-or-treaters!
Now, I disapprove of Halloween; it honors evil, and I find nothing humorous in witches and blood and suchlike (though so far this evening I've not seen anything like that). But the kids are going to be out anyway, so I give candy from Family Christian, with Bible verses on the wrappers. And picture cards with Bible verses. And the children seem quite pleased with what I'm offering.
