From the furry side

Purrr-fectly delightful! Ah, it's that wonderful time of year again! First my mama moved the living room furniture, uncovering my treasure trove of hidden toys, batted under the sofa through the past eleven months. What fun to have access to them again: a plastic egg, several magnetic baby toys, a couple of catnip mice, several plates, and a few stale doggie treats!
Then she brought in my new climbing and scratching post. She always drapes this one with lights and dangling things—I don't know why, as my regular kitty condo never gets those amenities. But this one has little flashing train lights, icicle lights, bubbling lights, big hot lights, little swaying lights ... and this evening she came home with a string of big moose lights!
My options are open at this point. I can climb the thing, or play bat-and-bounce with the danglies. I can lie on the window sill and peer out at the lighted figures in the grass. Or (my current favorite) I can lie under the thing, camouflaged by the branches and moose-skirt, watching through the branches but never seen. What fun!
So I wish you a happy day-after-Thanksgiving!
