People are so strange, you know? I mean, look at my mama. She drives to Denver to teach kids. Drives to church for Bible study and stuff. Drives to youth group on Friday nights. This Saturday she'll drive to south Denver to sign books, of all things! And when she's home, she's got a book in her hands. Or she's scrapbooking. She spends a lot of time typing on the computer. Now, wouldn't you think, at her advanced age, she'd have learned what's really important? All that driving, typing, doing ... when she could be patting me! She could be rubbing my ears, tickling my tummy, scratching my chin. She could be resting a hand on my head, whispering kind words to me, or (if for some reason she just has to be up and about) she could be handing out dog biscuits! But no, she does all that other stuff. The poor thing—think what she's missing!
