“Turn left as you exit the campground,” the kind KOA lady told me. “Left at the four-way stop sign, and it’s about a mile to the interstate.”

I’m confident that’s what she told me. I even wrote it down! I checked the edge of the map, and that’s what I wrote.

But after that first left turn, I was totally lost. Nothing looked familiar—and I should’ve been going out the way I came in. There certainly wasn’t a four-way stop sign. When the road I was on looped under the interstate, I was pretty sure I was doomed.

However, making a U-turn and starting over is a bit complicated when you’re 30-feet long. So I kept driving. Refusing to fret, refusing to panic, refusing to call myself names for getting lost. “I’ll find something or someone,” I told myself bravely.

I drove … and drove … and drove. Noticed I was going north—this is good! North is the way I wanted to be going! Noticed I was driving on a service road parallel to the interstate—okay, that meant that somehow, eventually, in some way, I would find a way to get on the highway, right?  Somewhere … yes! There!

I’d gotten off the highway last night at exit 191. I got back on at 197. But God knew all the time where I was, and He saw to it that I got back to my highway with no trouble at all! Yes!
